CRESTANI THIRD OVERALL IN HIS QUALIFYING ROUND - POHLER INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT ON FIRST LAP LEADS TO EXTRA PIT STOP Silverstone almost like Monza. The second round in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup was held on the legendary Silverstone track and started extremely well for Daiko Lazarus Racing. Still in the end it didn’t work out completely as the script had been written. While the Team had to end its race weekend at Monza on Friday due to an accident of Kris Richard during Free Practice, here in Northamptonshire the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 from the Team around Tancredi Pagiaro was able to express its full potential.
“Thursday during the tests and Friday with the Free Practice, we were always amongst the top cars on the time sheet,” Pagiaro said. “On Saturday we were concentrating on the car’s setup for the race.”
On Sunday, during Q1 Fabrizio Crestani was extremely quick, setting the third fastest overall lap time with a whole 48 cars on the track. The average lap time of Crestani and his teammates Nicolas Pohler and Richard put the Daiko Lazarus Racing Lambo in seventh row on P14 with another 34 cars behind them. Pohler sat behind the wheel for the first stint and got involved in a collision of several cars on the first lap, which led to an extra pit stop. This meant that all the chances for a good final position went up in flames due to circumstances beyond the Team’s control.
Now all eyes are set on the next round in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, which will be held on the first weekend of June at the Paul Ricard track in the South of France. The Team will hit the track with its two Huracáns before the date in June on the weekend of 25/26 May at the Hockenheimring for the second round in the International GT Open Championship.
