24-year-old Kris Richard from Bern, Switzerland, signed with Daiko Lazarus Racing to join the Team from Padua in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup together with Fabrizio Crestani and Nicolas Pohler in a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO.
The new-entry at Team Lazarus laid the foundations for his career at the age of four, when he started racing his kart. From 2005 through 2008 he participated in the Swiss karting Championships and turned towards motor racing in 2011 with the Formula LO series, finishing the 2012 season in third place.
In 2016 he started in the European Touring Car Cup, winning the Drivers’ title. He participated in one round of the 2016 TCR BeNeLux Touring Car Championship and in 2017 started in the ADAC TCR Germany Touring Car Championship as well as in the World Touring Car Championship.
Last year he started in the TCR Europe Series, while also participating in WTCR as a Gueststart on the Nordschleife, two VLN races and the Dubai 24h. Kris is also part of the RMotorsport Junior programme, more info about it will come soon. “We are extremely happy having Kris with us for an exciting season of the Blancpain Endurance Cup. With Kris we’ve got a quick, young driver joining Fabrizio and Nici to gain the best possible results in this competitive Series,” Team Principal Tancredi Pagiaro said.
The first Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup will be held on 13/14 April at the high-speed track of Monza just outside Milan, followed by Silverstone, Le Castellet, Spa, and Barcelona.
