These Aluminum alloys having an high tensile and corrosion strength, are suitable to use in shipbuilding, railway and automotive industry, cryogenic tanks and pressure vessel fabrication. The alloy is typically utilized in marine and structural applications where high strengths, high fracture toughness for impact resistance and exposure to corrosive elements are important. The alloy is not recommended for elevated temperature applications due to its susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is non-heat treatable.

Consumables for welding of Al-Mg, Al-Mg-Mn alloys up to 5% Mg.

Face-centered cubic lattice.
Materials to be welded

The alloy is not recommended for elevated temperature applications (> 65 °C) due to its susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is not-heat treatable.
