Use & Application
This filler metal is a version of the L605 rolled alloy with excellent resistance to thermal fatigue and is used for rebuilding and/or hardfacing of tools that work hot steel, such as scissors, punches, etc. for the steel industry. The non-magnetic weld metal also has excellent mechanical strength and good oxidation resistance up to 980°C. Very good resistance to sulphuration and relatively good resistance to wear and elongation in the metal-to-metal bond. «Metal-to-metal» resistance to corrosion, abrasion, cavitation and high impacts at high temperatures. Resistant to oxidizing and reducing atmospheres up to 1150°C. Due to its good impact resistance, it is widely used in filling molds and dies for hot forming. Application in petrochemical industry, control valves for high pressure steam, all kinds of valves, shear blades and for the recharging of turbine blades, extrusion dies, dies and tools for forging, furnace components and tools for working hot steel.
Alloy type
Cobalt-based alloy with additions of chromium, tungsten and nickel for excellent high temperature strength and oxidation resistance
Microstructure
Chromium and tungsten carbides in an austenitic type matrix.
Materials to be welded
