Use & Application
Filler metal of this classification is used for the overlay cladding of ferrous materials used in high temperature applications, and the welding of nickel-chromium-iron alloy to itself, and to steels, using the GTAW, GMAW, processes. Welds made with this composition are particularly resistant to high temperature oxidation, carburization, and sulfidation. It is functionally applicable for the operations in heat exchangers, piping, vessels, including evaporators in the offshore, marines, as well as chemical, petrochemical, and power engineering industries. DAIKO 657M wire is also customized in a different range of components in oil-fired furnaces and boilers, including tube sheets, tube hangers, supports, and spacers in ships, power stations, refineries in many petrochemical plants.
Alloy type
The nominal composition (wt. %) of filler metal of this classification is 60 Ni, 37.5 Cr, 0.95 Al, and 0.6 Nb plus Ta.
